Thank you very much for the steps to reproduce this bug - that helped a
lot. I had received bug reports about this problem but no-one found a
way to reproduce this with a blank document.
I've fixed the problem. You can find a fixed library here to test here:
http://people.debian.org/~halls/openoffice/test/libsc645li.so.bz2
(Download, uncompress and move to /usr/lib/openoffice/program).
