Bug#258967: Confirmation of bug

After literally 3 complete afternoons juggling around and even completely
deleting and again installing CUPS and OO via apt-get in Sarge for 2 times!
(with shutdowns inbetween to avoid something had been left in memory) I still
was not able to print from whatever OO-module. The testpage from spadmin went
well, thereafter nothing anymore. In none of the various logs I got a clue to
what went wrong.
However following the hint of Johannes Raspe to simply install a second
printer in CUPS with exactly the same configuration, but another name as the
original one, solved the problem. Printing, together with all the adjustable
setting-possibilities my HP Laserjet 1200 offers, now works perfectly. In my
case by choosing the originally configured printername, not the second one!
Whether the bug is in OO or CUPS I can't say for sure, as however KDE printed
all the time, I rather think it's in OO. The more so, as in my SuSE-system I
never had (and still don't have) any troubles with OO-printing.
Thanks to Johannes for his valuable hint and good luck to you to find the
flaw.

     With kind regards
     Peter Holm
