Bug#266890: No Python / PyUNO in OOo?

Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.1-4

I'm trying to work through PyUNO examples from
http://udk.openoffice.org/python/python-bridge.html
When I try to install the Hello-World program according to the examples
section I get an error message (below). According to this document,
however, Python should already be in:
"With OpenOffice1.1RC4 and higher, PyUNO is included in the default
installation." I suppose RC4 stands for "Release candidate 4" and that
sarge (see indicated version above) ships with something newer than
this?

Am I missing an additional Package to install to get python scripting in
OOo (I've already looked for uno in apt-cache dumpavail)? Or is it not
compiled in? Can I somehow install it myself? If yes, how?

Error message when trying to install the hello_world package from the
example:
ralf@bat:(26)% /usr/lib/openoffice/program/pkgchk -r hello_world_pyuno.zip
> warning: registering vnd.sun.star.expand:$UNO_USER_PACKAGES_CACHE/uno_packages/hello_world_pyuno.zip.1060432393/samples/hello_world_comp.py into registry file:///home/ralf/.openoffice/1.1.0/user/uno_packages/cache/services.rdb: failed! (cannot register implementation: ImplementationRegistration::registerImplementation() - The service com.sun.star.loader.Python cannot be instantiated
