Bug#265398: Openoffice.org: CUPS printer device options missing probably because spadmin fills /etc/openoffice/psprint.conf

Followup-For: Bug #254239
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.2-2, 1.1.2-3
Severity: normal

CUPS printer device options missing, except on first execution of the tool spadmin.

After a clean install, /etc/openoffice/psprint.conf is empty and spadmin gives all specific device options for a CUPS' printer (retrieved from CUPS server I guess). But, the second time, psprint.conf is filled with some default options, like the following :

[deskjet]
Printer=CUPS:deskjet/deskjet
DefaultPrinter=1
Location=
Comment=
Command=
Features=
Copies=1
Scale=100
Orientation=Portrait
PSLevel=0
ColorDevice=0
ColorDepth=24
MarginAdjust=0,0,0,0
PerformFontSubstitution=true

and no previous specific device options are available. I mean : no "Paper size", no specific in "Device" Tab, ...

I tried to remove the file /etc/openoffice/psprint.conf and 'spadmin' acts as expected (i.e all specific device options available again) but even if I chmod 000 this file, it is rewritten with default options again at the first use.

This Happens if I launch oowriter, oocalc (and others I presume) too. I can view or change specific device options each time in "printers options" and print with an empty file psprint.conf. But if I validate the printer's properties dialog box in 'spadmin', I can't neither access to these options nor print any document : nothing happens (even without root access to spadmin, the file psprint.conf is created by spadmin, but unwritable).

So, no 'spadmin' for the moment...

Cheers,
Olivier.
