Bug#236770: openoffice.org: GNOME desktop frozen during OOo startup
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.0-3
Severity: normal
Whenever I start OpenOffice to load whatever sort of document, my entire
desktop does not respond to mouse or key events any longer. It's frozen.
Only after OpenOffice has been started the desktop switches back to
normal.
>From a user perspective, this is annoying to the point where I consider
switching to Abiword.
>From a technical perspective I don't have a clue why OpenOffice behaves
so strangely when other applications do not show such misbehavior.
Maybe it has to do with the amount of TrueType fonts I have
installed (~300)?
