Bug#219625: openoffice.org: UTF-8 locale blocks non-ASCII characters

Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.1.0-2
Severity: normal

Hash: SHA1

$ LANG=en_US.utf8 oowriter
Pressing the äöüÄÖÜ (i.e. umlauted vowel) keys has no effect.
$ LANG=C oowriter
The aforementioned keys now work.

FWIW, the bug isn't kernel specific.

(I have a German keyboard if that matters.)
