Bug#182232: openoffice.org: completely wrong locale settings iterpretation

As you can see lower, I have both en and sk language pack installed and I
use following locale settings:
LANG=C
LC_CTYPE=sk_SK
LC_NUMERIC="C"
LC_TIME="C"
LC_COLLATE="C"
LC_MONETARY="C"
LC_MESSAGES="C"
LC_PAPER="C"
LC_NAME="C"
LC_ADDRESS="C"
LC_TELEPHONE="C"
LC_MEASUREMENT="C"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="C"
LC_ALL=
When I run openoffice, all menus are in slovak. According to
README.Debian, I guess openoffice should honor locale settings and should
behave like all locale-aware applications. So with this settings, it
should run with english menus.
I also did some further experiments, results are quite bad ;(
$ LC_MESSAGES=en_US openoffice
... runs with slovak menus
$ LC_MESSAGES=C openoffice
... runs with slovak menus
$ LANG=en_US openoffice
... runs with slovak menus
$ LANG=C openoffice
... runs with slovak menus
$ LC_ALL=C openoffice
... finally, english menus
I'm not sure, whether this is exactly the same problem as reported in
previous mails, if I remember well it worked fine in previous version
(was it rc1?), but I'm not sure, I haven't used openoffice for a while and
that old packages are no longer available on ftp, so I can not try. ;(
Notes:
- all locales for en_US and sk_SK are generated correctly
- I tryied removing user's config files, it doesn't help
- this behavior is independent of language settings that can be altered
through openoffice's tools -> options dialog (as it should be according
to help)
