Bug#184776: openoffice.org: Configuration options in /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice

The file /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice (the shell script used to
launch OpenOffice.org) contains some options for file locking that can
be commented out if necessary:

#
# STAR_PROFILE_LOCKING_DISABLED=1
# export STAR_PROFILE_LOCKING_DISABLED
#

#
# SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING=1
# export SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING
#

However, any changes made to this file will get overwritten when OpenOffice.org is updated. I assume this is because the file is not really a configuration file.

Could Debian provide these same options somewhere in /etc/openoffice
instead?

Same thing for:

# uncomment this to remote start soffice on hostname
# SO_REMOTE_START=rsh
# SO_REMOTE_APPLICATION=hostname:/fully_quallified_path/soffice

It could be very interesting in many environnements.
