Are you installing newly from scratch? Whith apt-get or dpkg -i ? The openoffice.org 1.0.1-6 package _does not_ contain /usr/bin/openoffice, this was moved to openoffice.org-debian-files. 1.0.1-5 did contain it and therefore openoffice.org-debian-files has "Conflicts: openoffice.org (<= 1.0.1-5).
