Well if we want ci.debian.net to use it then it does need to be backported to stretch. :) But note that autodep8 runs on the CI worker host (which runs stretch), but the autopkgtest control file produced is executed inside an unstable test bed. So at least on a first glance, I don't think there is an issue.
