Bug#774278: unison: naming of backup files does not work for "update-sandisk-Playlists"
Package: unison
Version: 2.40.65-2
Severity: minor
Dear Maintainer,
I use unison a lot and think it is a great tool (I have also already donated something :-).
I use unison also for making backups. The relevant options are:
backup = Name *
backuplocation = local
backupprefix =
backupsuffix = ..unison-backup.$VERSION
Everything works fine, for instance, the following files are being created after some time:
-rw-r--r-- 1 josef josef 199 Dec 27 10:59 backup.prf
-rw-r--r-- 1 josef josef 515 Dec 26 12:46 backup.prf..unison-backup.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 josef josef 517 Dec 26 11:37 backup.prf..unison-backup.1
-rw-r--r-- 1 josef josef 1053 Oct 12 20:13 backup.prf..unison-backup.2
However, only the file "update-sandisk-Playlists" is handled incorrectly. I guess it has
to do with the filename. After some time I have:
-rwxr--r-- 1 laurenz laurenz 1762 Dec 28 13:48 update-sandisk-Playlists
-rwxr--r-- 1 laurenz laurenz 1549 Feb 3 2014 update-sandisk-Playlists..unison-backup.0..unison-backup.0..unison-backup.0..unison-backup.0..unison-backup.0..unison-backup.0
i.e. "..unison-backup.0" gets added over and over again instead of incrementing the counter at the end.
Best wishes,
Josef.
