Marco mailed privately me about this, better explaining the issue.
Indeed the bug report was too concise and not very informative.

I'll expand the long story. Starting from version 5 camlp5 can be built
in either strict or transitional mode, as detailed at
http://pauillac.inria.fr/~ddr/camlp5/doc/htmlc/strict.html .

Debian follows the default setting and builds camlp5 in transitional
mode.  What Marco wants is an extra package, called "camlp5-strict"
which contains camlp5 built in strict mode.

As the 2 are incompatible, they will need to be in mutual Conflicts
relationship. I've already told him that we won't have a look at this
before the 3.10.1 transition is over ...
