Package: ocaml Version: 3.08.2-1 Severity: wishlist The OCaml standard library function int_of_float is slow on x86. See: http://sardes.inrialpes.fr/~aschmitt/cwn/2005.02.22.html#8 I have developed a patch that adds a round_to_int function: http://www.mega-nerd.com/OCaml/ I'd love to see this in the standard Debian O'Caml packages. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (700, 'testing'), (650, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8 Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to POSIX) Versions of packages ocaml depends on: ii ocaml-base [ocaml-base-3.08] 3.08.2-1 Runtime system for ocaml bytecode ii ocaml-nox [ocaml-nox-3.08] 3.08.2-1 ML language implementation with a -- no debconf information

Hi, this bug has been marked as wontfix since more than 2 years and upstream rejected the proposed feature request. In addition to that, we maintainers do not want to apply the patch only in Debian, as it will break binary compatibility. Give all the reasonings above I see no point in keeping this bug open in the Debian BTS, hence I'm closing it with this mail. Cheers. -- Stefano Zacchiroli -*- PhD in Computer Science ............... now what? zack@{cs.unibo.it,debian.org,bononia.it} -%- http://www.bononia.it/zack/ (15:56:48) Zack: e la demo dema ? /\ All one has to do is hit the (15:57:15) Bac: no, la demo scema \/ right keys at the right timeAttachment: signature.asc
