In fact I go much further .. I'd mandate regression/unit tests
for the library and force maintainers to disable them if not
provided :) And of course, bounce the package if any tests failed.

[My package does that, much to Mike Furr's annoyance at the
horrendous build times .. but it has found 2 bugs in Ocaml itself
so far]
