hevea 1.08 contained the command \remakesection, defined in
latexcommon.hva. This is still documented on the hevea website, so it's
probably intended to stay. However, version 1.09 does no longer define
that macro. This causes documents that use this macro to fail.
One of them is ion2 which FTBFS because of this, #396930

You're right, and I must have been confused.

I think I found it somewhere, in a text that somehow was associated with
a particular version of hevea. But I'm not really sure now, maybe I
just found it in the FAQ and in the code.
I agree that this is not a bug, closing.
