For the moment, the EDOS project has been concentrating on tools
to ensure the global consistency, rather than tools for finding
upgrade paths on a client machine. One of the immediate results
of this is the debcheck program (ITP pending). The technology
is there, debcheck has shown that a complete and very fast
constraint solver is possible. It certainly is possible to
use this technology to build a tool to find an upgrade path
onther client side (a replacement of apt).

The results of WP2 (this is the EDOS task on dependency managment) so
far can be found in the two deliverables:
