I grabbed the sources from alioth and built the packages.

I have 2 questions: the .depend files should be removed on "make clean"?

The package's version is 1.0.5a, but for a not-native package, the 
upload should be versioned 1.0.5a-1.

I can do the upload and with that upload I'd hand over the Maintainer 
field to George.
