Good question. I'm for keeping just lablgtk2 bindings, but I've no idea
about how smooth the transition should be. Since the lablgtk part is
just a tiny part of camlimages I hope it wont be a problem ...

PS it's definitely true that you use camlimages more than me, would you
like to take over the camlimage maintenance?
