Erm, /usr/lib/ocaml/3.06/ld.conf seems to be part of the ocaml package,
and i suppose, since you installed in two steps, that you ran the
ocaml-base postinst before unpacking the ocaml package, and thus the
problem you experience.

I will upload a fixed ocaml 3.06-14 tomorrow.

In the meantime, just run ocaml-ldconf (or reinstall ocaml-base).
