advi fails on debian
I have an up-to-date Woody installation and tried out advi on two
normal dvi-files today. It was unusable.
Advi took a long time to compile the missing fonts and then did not
show any characters except a few dots for the itemized items and a few
lines where tables were involved.
Some of the warnings were:
-----------------
mktexpk: `mf \mode:=ljfour; mag:=1+0/600; nonstopmode; input ptmr8t' failed to make ptmr8t.600pk.
kpathsea: Appending font creation commands to missfont.log.
