ocaml 3.04-8

Hello, ...

i just uploaded ocaml 3.04-8 to ftp master as well as to :

ftp://lambda.u-strasbg.fr/debian

here is an extract of the changelog file :

Description:
ocaml - ML language implementation with a class-based object system
ocaml-base - Runtime system for ocaml bytecode executables
ocaml-native-compilers - Native code compilers of the ocaml suite (the .opt
ones)
ocaml-source - Sources for Objectif Caml
Closes: 134113
Changes:
 ocaml (3.04-8) unstable; urgency=high
 .
   * Removed the not working ppc patch and replaced it by the one from
upstream's CVS (hope it works) (Closes: Bug#134113)
   * Fixed ocaml-ldconf so it would work even if the files did not exist, and
added two of the ld.conf files as conffiles (not /usr/lib/ocaml/ld.conf,
which is a install time generated package).
   * Renamed the include files again to /usr/include/caml, as it breaks things
     otherwise.

Well, as you can see, it seems the ocaml-ldconf thingy should now be working
fine, and i reverted the /usr/include/caml -> /usr/include/ocaml change, it is
more compatible that way (apparently camlidl broke because of this change).

But, still, i don't think that the powerpc problem is gone, i will not close
the bug unless there is a working package on powerpc and i have report of it
working correctly. If this is solved, then fine, if not, i will have to remove
the native code support on ppc, i don't think there is another reasonable way
to solve this, apart from using the full cvs version of ocaml, which fixes
this bug, but i am _not_ ready to do that.

So please test and enjoy.

Friendly,

Sven Luther
