No, the way it is obtained is not important, from the time the notice is
added, then it applies.

That said, if you now get the stuff from the debian package, the note applies.

Oreilly can well choose to make the book available under different licences if
you are getting it from the debian package and from their web site (and also
from the CD included in the book).
