Well, yes, the debian policy is to strip binaries, but stripping ocaml
bytecode binaries would remove the bytecode to be executed, which is not
really the right thing to do.

Thus the debian policy for doing ocaml related package (as defined by me as
the ocaml maintainer, maybe i should send some info to the debian-policy folk
?) is not to strip ocaml programs.

But then maybe i should fill a bug report against strip ?

I will wait for your response before closing the bug report.
