I "just" sponsored 6 uploads of polyml for James, but I have been
impressed by the quality of his work, he is a nice guy, learns
quickly, he did a lot of stuff I didn't ask for (and trust me, I have
been so pedantic on the various RFS bugs), e.g. by enabling hardening
stuff, porting the package on various architectures, stop using
embedded libraries (e.g. libffi), enabling the testsuite, big endian
support (and two SONAME bumps, BTW).
With him, polyml package has reached a really nice shape, and it is
keeping up with the latest upstream fixes, and a stronger Debian
I believe he has both technical and social skills to maintain a Debian
package, and (if he wants to be more involved in Debian), in a
not-too-far future to become a full Debian Developer.
Please let him become a Debian Maintainer.
