I have sponsored osmctools that was prepared by Pierre. I guided him
into team maintenance in Debian GIS team to make him aware that
maintenance today means working with teams. He was one of my forst
sponsees in the SoB[1] effort. I can confirm that Pierre was trying to
quickly follow my (nitpicking) enhancements to his initially good work.
Since other sponsors (namely Mathieu Malaterre which I know and trust)
took over the sponsoring I can only speak for a short episode of
sponsoring relation to Pierre but I have no reason to believe that he
would not do a decent job as Debian Maintainer.

All the best to you Pierre and thanks to those who are working for
Debian Frontdesk

      Andreas.
