Ok xfs also fails - same error but different package: util-linux 

I'm not sure how to repartitioning the hard disk (volume header).
http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/mips/apcs05.html.en says:  
It can be created in the fdisk expert menu. 

But fdisk states: Sorry, no experts menu for SGI ....

Are there some new informations?

However my partition layout is:

Disk /dev/sda (SGI disk label): 141 heads, 62 sectors, 1016 cylinders
