Package: sponsorship-requests
Severity: normal

Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "freeipmi":

 * Package name    : freeipmi
   Version         : 1.6.8-2
   Upstream Author : Albert Chu <chu11@llnl.gov>
 * URL             : https://www.gnu.org/software/freeipmi/
 * License         : GPL-3+
 * Vcs             : https://salsa.debian.org/debian/freeipmi
   Section         : admin

I tested it 2 weeks ago but I waited for minor issue about "conffile moved to another package marked obsolete", I not found a solution or workaround for now but is also a know issue, a bug was opened some years and seems considered minor (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=886389), so I think can be uploaded to experimental instead still wait long time for a possible solution to this.

This build fix also a policy issue with shared libraries, even if was not opened an RC (fixed when I spotted it) and was introduced 10 years ago so I keeped it severity normal.

It builds those binary packages:

  freeipmi - GNU implementation of the IPMI protocol
  freeipmi-bmc-watchdog - GNU implementation of the IPMI protocol - BMC watchdog
  freeipmi-common - GNU implementation of the IPMI protocol - common files
  freeipmi-ipmidetect - GNU IPMI - IPMI node detection tool
  freeipmi-ipmiseld - GNU IPMI - IPMI system event log daemon
  freeipmi-tools - GNU implementation of the IPMI protocol - tools
  libfreeipmi-dev - GNU IPMI - development package
  libfreeipmi17 - GNU IPMI - libraries
  libipmiconsole-dev - GNU IPMI - ipmiconsole development package
  libipmiconsole2 - GNU IPMI - Serial-over-Lan library
  libipmidetect-dev - GNU IPMI - ipmidetect development package
  libipmidetect0 - GNU IPMI - IPMI node detection library
  libipmimonitoring-dev - GNU IPMI - ipmimonitoring development package
  libipmimonitoring6 - GNU IPMI - Sensor monitoring library
