Hard to tell about the users base,
but I know there were a couple of showcases at FOSDEM on different OSes
(Raspbian, TizenRT, RIOT) and I'm sure thoses devs would love to use
debian too.
For javascripters, it's a lightweight alternative to nodejs,
but project still aims to preserve node compatibility:
