reverse-depends -b libec-dev
reverse-depends  libec-dev
reverse-depends  libec2

returned nothing, so I sponsored the package.

there is no need for a Debian transition, but it might be needed if you have some local packages
linking it.
(there has been some headers file removed/moved, so some API changes might have been there)
