I have updated the page a bit to indicate that this was only needed in wheezy (for updates from squeeze).
I have not updated to remove the advice to add the variable, because
it is presumably still a good idea for backports and LTS reasons? (I
am thinking about derivatives upgrading from Ubuntu LTS for example,
where presuambly this will apply for some time yet.)
Should we in fact be advising removal of this stanza entirely now?
