Right.  Amended a bit along with the long description.

Not a bug.  The icon is loaded from /usr/lib by the app and I prefer
to keep it like this as it will always be correct.

I trust GNU(step) Make to do the right thing here.  If it doesn't we
have a bigger problem than this.

This version is based on a very old upstream release and is
unmaintained.

Already replied regarding this in the aclock.app RFS bug.

I don't like these either but they're harmless and do not warrant
repackaging the upstream tarball, IMHO.
