Thank you for your interest, and thanks for the comments on my package!
I will answer with some questions before I publish a changed package.
I will fix the original tarball issue. I used an equivalent but
different .orig.tar.gz for -2 (compared to -1), but dput didn't upload
the new .orig.tar.gz.
I have fixed the menu entry, and I am now using the category
Applications/Technical ; this is the best approximation I could find.
I have also removed the last sentence in the long package description.
Thanks for the pointers on these.
For the changelog, I have no non-packaging changes to describe. I
propose using just this draft (with updated timestamp later on, and
for the version, see below)

Now, however, I wonder if I should bump the dash version further for
the updated changes. Should the fixed package be version -3, or am I
allowed to keep it at -2 (or even -1?). This is the main reason why I
don't want to publish a changed package yet.
