There was one "grave" bug, fixed by a version that was available
several years ago...
There was one 'serious' bug, which had been fixed by the maintainer.
Plus 4 'normal' bugs, 1 'minor' bug, & 2 'wishlist' bugs; all I
would consider as closed due to the new package...

That grave bug noted above, I have that one noted in the
changelog. Not sure how to handle the others...

You mean, as part of the initial message? I had thought to
include such details in follow on messages to the ITP bug...

I intend to do the ITP but I'm not sure when I'll get to the
point of having a package ready to upload. I'm changing it over to
using debhelper (instead of debmake) & generally doing an update to
the packaging...
