Hi, i think that's an interesting package, i took a bit time to overview
it:

debian/changelog:
-	* Initial build
+	* Initial release

I thought this is a standard (it's in the dh_make mask)

debian/conffiles.future:
Ehm, nice there seems to be a config file, but in debian/rules is no
command to insall it. Please remove this file and put a config in
debian/ripit.conf and copy this manually to $(CURDIR)/debian/ripit/etc.

debian/control:
After the Description add the homepage of the upstream in this syntax:
.
Homepage: http://ripit.localhost/ripit...

debian/copyright:
* Copyright (c) 2004-2005 Felix Suwald <ripit@suwald.com>
* This code is hereby licensed for public consumption under either the
* GNU GPL v2 or greater, or Larry Wall's Artistic license - your choice.
Please add an empty line after the "Copyright (C) 200..." line.

debian/docs:
HISTORY is not needed (not interesting for a user)

debian/rules:
First please remove all the lines you don't need (e.g the outcommented
ones).
dh_installexamples (where are the examples?)
dh_installmenu (where's the menu definition?)
dh_link (not needed)
dh_strip (not needed)
dh_shlibdeps (you have no dependency on shlibdeps, so you don't need
this!)

Cheers:
Mario
