accidently built native package
Hi,
I have packaged hatari into a .deb file. That was in version 0.50
and lead to no problems. Now a new upstream version (0.60) is out and
I wanted to package that. So I unpacked the new tarball, renamed the
tarball to hatari-0.60.orig.tar.gz and copied the debian/ directory
from the 0.50 version to the fresh expanded directory of the 0.60
version. I added a new changelog entry that reflects the new version
number.
But now lintian reports a warning that I maybe accidently built a
native Debian package. What am I missing? Any ideas?
This is the directory structure after the build. As you see there are
two tar.gz files with different sizes:
marco@lurkabove:/tmp/hatari-deb$ ls -l
total 1420
drwx------ 5 marco marco 4096 2005-01-28 21:55 hatari-0.60
-rw-r----- 1 marco marco 500054 2005-01-28 20:38 hatari-0.60.orig.tar.gz
-rw-r----- 1 marco marco 887 2005-01-28 21:55 hatari_0.60-1.dsc
-rw-r----- 1 marco marco 500838 2005-01-28 21:53 hatari_0.60-1.tar.gz
-rw-r----- 1 marco marco 1208 2005-01-28 21:55 hatari_0.60-1_i386.changes
-rw-r--r-- 1 marco marco 418558 2005-01-28 21:55 hatari_0.60-1_i386.deb
The difference is the following (part of a diff output of 'tar tzf'):
+hatari-0.60/debian/
+hatari-0.60/debian/changelog
+hatari-0.60/debian/compat
+hatari-0.60/debian/docs
+hatari-0.60/debian/watch
+hatari-0.60/debian/hatari.doc-base
+hatari-0.60/debian/copyright
+hatari-0.60/debian/control
+hatari-0.60/debian/rules
+hatari-0.60/debian/rules.ORIG
+hatari-0.60/debian/hatari.manpages
+hatari-0.60/debian/menu
+hatari-0.60/debian/bts/
+hatari-0.60/debian/bts/control
+hatari-0.60/debian/NEWS.Debian
+hatari-0.60/hatari.xpm
Obvoiusly dpkg-buildpackage didn't recognize hatari-0.60.orig.tar.gz as the
original source tarball. So what have I done wrong?
Regards
Marco
