Error in compiling package in POTATO

Hi all,

I am working on a package (xyplot) that compiles fine on stable machines,
but when I try to compile on unstable it bombs.  The line is chokes on in
the source is a declaration

FILE *err=stdout;

Is this a bug in egcs/gcc or is it new behavior due to fixing a previous
bug??
