What happened is that Gianfranco could not reproduce the problem that
was most likely the result of a bug in gcc-4.9. The gcc package has seen
a few update since the bug was files and we assume that this fixed it,
but so far only Gianfranco really did the testing.

IIRC gcc-4.9 will be the official compiler for jessy, hence setting up a
a cdash that uses this compiler (with the Debian patches) would help to
make sure that your releases will build fine.
