Re: Removing the field::biology:bioinformatics and biology:: debtags ?

Sounds good to me. Hierarchical tags don't make much sense.

Thanks

Dear all,

we have hundred of packages, and making sure that they are all comprehensively
tagged takes time.

As discussed earlier, the Debtags are not a hierarchical structure, that is,
field::biology:bioinformatics is not a child of field::biology.

In that sense, specialised tags are unnecessary complications unless they have
a direct use.  In our case, we have metapackages to guide our users to
bioinformatics packages.

Since we have a works-with::biological-sequence, I think I will start to go
ahead and replace field::biology:bioinformatics by works-with::biological-sequence.

Similarly, I am not using anymore the biology:: facet, that was created as a
compromise at a moment where I did not understand Debtags well, and propose to
delete them unless somebody uses them.

Is everybody fine with this ?

Have a nice day,
