Package Engrampa in Debian Testing not working with password protected compressed files since more than one year ago

Dear Maintainers,

I just tried to report this old bug using "reportbug" but something went wrong.

So I write you because this important bug was fixed in Engrampa source code more than one year ago, (thanks to 7zip Debian package maintainer Yokota Hiroshi and Mate Desktop member zhuyaliang) but the fix never did it to the Engrampa Debian Testing Package, and now that Debian Testing is freezing it is more important than ever to fix it.

Package: engrampa
Version: 1.26.2-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

A change of version in package 7zip in Testing, more than a year ago, made Engrampa unusable for password protected compressed files

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I wrote to Engrampa developers and the bug was fixed in source code in february 2024.

The issue in source code was this:

        https://github.com/mate-desktop/engrampa/issues/510

     And the fix was this:

        https://github.com/mate-desktop/engrampa/pull/513/commits/7c96bb400bea73596b80f76b04310f5243a6a550

   * What was the outcome of this action?

I compiled Engrampa from source code with the fix, and the issue was solved, but Engrampa packagers in Debian never updated the package. So all Mate Desktop users in Debian Testing have to use another archivers like xarchive to deal with password protected compressed files.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

After more than one year waiting, and now that Debian Testing is freezing to a new stable, I think you should update Debian package Engrampa 1.26 with the old fix.
