Hi,

Currently mate-notification-daemon cannot be built on GNU/Hurd due to a
build-dependency on libgtk-layer-shell-dev, which in turn build-depends
on libwayland-dev. Unfortunately wayland is not yet available on
GNU/Hurd.

The attached patch, debian_control.patch, excludes the dependency on 
libgtk-layer-shell-dev for Hurd, enabling a successful build.

With mate-notification-daemon available the whole mate-desktop-
environment (and mate-desktop) is installable.
