Bug#913374: Subject: mate-control-center: Sound does not work properly after upgrading libasound2-plugins

X-Debbugs-Cc: akiyama@m.soramichi.jp
Package: mate-control-center
Version: 1.20.3-1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

I use MATE on Debian testing and the sound does work correctly after the libasound2-plugins package was upgraded from 1.1.6-1 to 1.1.7-2 via recent apt-get upgrade.
Especially, the "sound" utility included in mate-control-center seems not working, maybe because of the changes introduced in the alsa side.

What happens:
- The "sound" utility in mate-control-center cannot tweak settings for the sound cards, although all the cards are properly listed.
  - More precisely, the "Hardware" tab shows all installed sound cards, but the "Settings for the selected device" column does not show anything for any card selected.
- It also does not show some menus such as the one for testing the selected card, which used to be there.
- Some applications cannot play sound even when I manually modify /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf to use the card I want to.
  - Totem and VLC (with the "default" sound card selected) work, but Firefox does not play sound.
- The "Applications" tab of the "sound" utility does not show anything even when sound is playing.

I guess the reason might be that alsa-plugins have installed new config files as shown in their change log
(https://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs//main/a/alsa-plugins/alsa-plugins_1.1.7-2_changelog)
and MATE has to adapt to their changes in order to properly configure them.
