Debian LTS and ELTS report for September 2025

In September 2025 I've worked on the below listed packages for Freexian LTS/ELTS [1].
This is my seventh month and still having problems finding time to use up my allocated
hours.

Many thanks to Freexian and our sponsors [2] for providing this opportunity!

LTS
====

I looked into civetweb which was listed in dla-needed. The listed
problem was still unresolved in all suites, including unstable/sid.
I started by reproducing the issue as described against sid.
I created a salsa merge-request (MR) [3] which fixed an existing FTBFS
as well as backports the upstream fix. I built the updated package and
confirmed that the problem was no longer possible to reproduce. I then
started looking into backporting the solution to bullseye, but noticed
the code was different and figured out which commit introduced the
problem -- which was not yet included in the upstream version of
civetweb that was part of bullseye. Note was added about unaffected[3].
Confirmed with fellow LTS collegues that removing from dla-needed was
the correct course of actions and did that[4]. End result: No DLA.

ELTS
====

No work this month.

I also attended the team meeting.

Regards,
Andreas Henriksson
