* New team members:
- No new team members this month
* Action item review: (Roberto)
- Action: Propose an MR with detailed guidance on
data/next-point-update.txt
+ Assignee: Guilhem
+ Issue: https://salsa.debian.org/lts-team/lts-extra-tasks/-/issues/90
+ Result: No progress, deferred to next month
- Action: Send message to debian-lts@ concerning configuration of KGB
for #debian-lts
+ Assignee: Charles
+ Issue: https://salsa.debian.org/lts-team/lts-extra-tasks/-/issues/91
+ Result: https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts/2025/07/msg00016.html /
https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts/2025/08/msg00038.html
* Featured issue(s) of the month: (Roberto)
- None for this month - a bunch of documentation issues coming soon
- Discussed that this should be open so that anyone can propose issues
which might benefit from visibility to the entire team
* [Tentative] Possible topic: Helmut would be included to present the
recent changes in the build process to the LTS Team, e.g. explaining
what kind of environment is involved when building packages
(hardware/qemu/chroot/unshared/...), if there's interest from the LTS
Team / Coordinators. (Discussed with Beuc during DebCamp.)
- ELTS infrastructure status:
+ Using Debusine is mandatory, no more rebuildd builds
+ No more ARM* autopkgtest
+ Debusine-based autopkgtest regression tracking not yet there
+ debdiff support deferred in Debusine (bugs)
- ACTION: Jochen to document the preferred way to build source
packages and upload them to Debusine.
- ACTION: Asking Debusine developers to provide a PPA for
debusine-client:
https://salsa.debian.org/freexian-team/debusine/-/issues/1062
- If you have Debusine problems, consider asking in
irc://irc.debian.org/#debusine
* Reminder: looking for initial feedback about the introduction of
support for handling severities and related data. (Santiago)
- There were discussions of the merits of our own severity level
assignments versus those of the broadly available CVSS
- The discussion continued for a few minutes and eventually was tabled
in favor a more in depth discussion on the mailing list
* Open technical question(s) about difficult issues to solve (Santiago,
but this is open to everybody)
- Discussed if we could have time during the meeting for discussion of
difficult issues
- Roberto proposed allowing for this with a 5 minute limit on
discussing each issue; Santiago felt like this didn't really capture
the intent of what he had proposed
- Roberto then proposed adding an "appendix" to the meeting, after the
rest of the agenda had been completed, during which anyone not
interested in the deeper technical discussions can leave the meeting
and those who remain can spend time on the technical issues; this
suggestion seemed better aligned with the original proposal and will
be implemented next month as a trial run
* KGB notifications to start on 2025-09-01 in #debian-lts
* AOB
- None.
* Next meeting: 2025-09-25 14:00 UTC [Location: #debian-lts on IRC]
Thanks to everyone who participated!
Regards,
-Roberto
