Hello everyone.
Here are the notes from today's LTS meeting.
Present:

- Santiago
- Chris Lamb (lamby)
- tobi

- Jochen
- Lee
- Emilio
- Bastien
- Ola
- Helmut
Apologies:

Discussion:
- Roll Call
- Reminder about not conflicting with the last Bullseye PU (santiago)
+ check
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?users=release.debian.org@packages.debian.org;tag=pu
if there's anything related to the package you picked
+ a couple we are aware of are referenced in dla-needed.txt, but more
might be added, stay alert
+ scheduled 2024-08-31; probably frozen a bit before (this week-end)
- Request: bullseye-lts status (upload open?) (Beuc)
+ bulleye-security not open yet, still waiting for FTP masters to act
+ ta contacted but this requires other members of FTP master, whom he
pinged already
- freexian CLI tool
+ Who uses it, should we make it more robust to make life easier for
newcomers? (Lee)
+ it shouldn't have features meant for technical tasks, only
administrative/accounting
+ tooling working on e.g. security-tracker would be best kept separate
e.g., by improving 'bin/package-operations' which isn't
freexian-specific
* rouca mentions effort towards merging data/CVE/list Emacs-based
tooling within devscripts
* roberto reminds about not disrupting secteam's own workflow while
working on security-tracker and adding other tools to work there;
we need to think on where it's best to integrate LTS improvements
* create tickets in lts-extra-tasks explaining the new features
needed, and propose MRs
+ rouca mentions we'd like to override secteam/LTS triage within the
ELTS security-tracker, e.g. to change from <postponed> to
non-triaged/ignored/not-affected, etc.
+ rouca mentions we'd benefit from a way to (better) track regressions
(e.g. current apache2 multiple regressions after CVE fixes)
- Report reminder: non-public links (roberto)
+ Reminder from earlier e-mail on the deblts-team list. Don't link
e.g., private gitlab freexian projects.
+ Instead you can mention the work done without a link.
- Raphael reducing his direct LTS/ELTS involvement (roberto)
+ Go through LTS Coordinators Roberto and Santiago first, not through
Raphael first
- Mini-DebConf Toulouse (roberto)
+ Mini-DebConf in November in Toulouse (France)
+ Most of the Freexian collaborators plan to go, everybody in LTS/ELTS
Team is invited to come, there could be social gathering
+ Helmut: One may approach the DPL for individual travel sponsorship
to conference and sprints as ususal
- LTS Team ARM group runner available now (santiago)
+ every package in lts-team Salsa namespace should get the CI ARM
runner automatically
+ it was previously available and had to be added manually
+ roberto: util-linux assumes arch 32/64-bit matches the system
32/64-bit; this isn't the case for the (arm64) runner, there might
be specific errors
+ rouca: arm64 isn't the exact same as armel/armhf, so there might be
disprepancies, particularly FPU, and checksum acceleration
- AOB
+ helmut: autopkgtest
* we probably won't have a CI queue within Debian (as we do for
ELTS)
* various solutions were discussed, nothing has been decided
+ rouca: how to share share packages WIP before actual DLA?
* santiago: 'aptly' job in Salsa can be enabled and used for this
* however care must be taken with versioning; rouca opened a bug
about versioning but waiting for more input:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1078505
- Next meeting: 2024-09-26 14:00 UTC [Location: #debian-lts on IRC]
More detail is available in the raw notes contained in the meeting
agenda: https://pad.riseup.net/p/lts-meeting-agenda
Thanks again to everyone for participating.
Regards,
-Roberto
