Re: How to avoid maintainers to feel pushed?

Hi again

It turned out that the reason was that the maintainer had filed the Debian bug and informed the security team about it.
- Do this mean that we should add instructions that we should formulate the email differently in case it is clear that the maintainer already know about the problem (like if the maintainer had filed the security related bug report or being part of that discussion)?

Best regards

Hi LTS team

Today I got a reply from the tor maintainer that he felt pushed. He wanted me to hold back more than a few minutes before pinging him.
I'm guessing this because the security team informed him shortly before. I do not know that for sure yet as I just sent that email.

My question to you is if we should change the instructions at https://wiki.debian.org/LTS/Development ?
The instructions do not give any guidance on this.

- Should we change the template so that it is clear that a similar email may have been sent by the Security team?
- Should we have a different variant if the package was in dsa-needed.txt (meaning that the security team probably have sent out a similar email)?
- Should we just ignore this?

I have got similar complaints before so therefore I'm bringing this up for discussion.

Best regards
