The current situation is that the FTP team has postponed the inclusion of
loong64 into the list of release architectures after the Trixie release which
is due in the next months.

Since the port to a new architecture will need to be stabilized before it can
be officially released, it's normally desirable to add new release architectures
at the beginning of a development cycle.

Luckily, the loong64 port has become very mature, also thanks to the endless
efforts of many Loongson engineers and lots of very active people in the community.

There is only really a handful of packages such as ocaml-native-compilers, fpc and
qt6-webengine which need to add loong64 support. The vast majority is already well
supported.

And since the release team and the DSA teams have already said to support loong64,
I am very confident that the architecture can be included for the next release
as soon as Trixie is out.

FWIW, DSA already officially maintains one LoongArch server, see:

That can still change ;-).
