Re: Volunteers requested (Was: When will the Debian 12 32-bit Live ISO arrive?)

ok but then why just today did the Linux Mint team publish the 32-bit LMDE 6 ISO images using Debian 12? ... and I don't think they are the only ones who have released 32-bit ISOs based on Debian 12

I looked at https://linuxmint.com/download_all.php and found for the 21.2 version 3 editions, all 64-bit only (and based on Ubuntu, not directly on Debian)

For the Debian LMDE version (https://linuxmint.com/edition.php?id=297) they only support the Cinnamon desktop for 64-bit and 32-bit.

From the Mint perspective, I guess that the QA effort is manageable, given that they only have 2 versions for the LMDE variant. In Debian we would have 2x8=16 ISO images that need to monitored by QA.

As I mentioned before: I have nothing against the the 32-bit editions of the live image, and they can (as far as I am concerned) be reinstated, provided we have a suitable QA in place. That QA will/can not be done by me, as I don't have sufficient time and suitable hardware, so volunteers are welcome. And unfortunately, just using qemu for QA (e.g. as done in openQA) isn't sufficient, as the release team will be able to confirm. The release team is doing a great job on release day, but verifying all images takes a lot of time.

With kind regards,
Roland Clobus
