Dear core developers,
When i havve tried The latest Debian Alpha 2 .iso
image with Gnome, i have fould out, that The logout and login dialog window is
not working so smoothly for visually impaired users like in The release Alpha 1
from 13.3.2010. When i want to logout and login again by pressing enter key in
The logout dialog window, nothink is happening. I Am experiencing this like a
big problem because when Orca screen reader is enabling me to logout and login
again, The process can not be simply finished by pressing Enter at The right
time. And in The release dated to 13.3.2010, short beep have been generated
byusing internal PC speaker when user should login. This has been ammazing,
because i did not have to use gdm-setup and i dit not have to specifi The .wav
file which sould be plaied when login screen appears.
And somebody, who loves security standards in
Debian Gnome live CD disabled me to kill gdm by using killall GDM, this is very
probably because Alpha 2 of Debian Squeeze is a little closer to The beta and
official release. Because killall gdm command can not be used also in The newest
Debian Leny live Gnome.
It is very sad, because Alpha 1 release enabled me
to do this and i could even be logged as a root user or a live user. And, and
this is unique feature for Debian distro, i could use Orca like a root user or
as a non root user and when i switched between those user accounts, i did not
have to perform all Orca setup question for more than once when i logged as a
non root user or as a root user.
I have also very deeply thinked about The solution,
which would be a realistic compromise between following security standards and
equal access to The applications which are being running as a root user for
users of at-spi assistive technology. Without no need to use some work arounds
such as killing GDM, which many programmers who are responsible for security
standards in all Linux distros are not like very much.
I will introduce my idea at my second message.
Thank You very much for Yours patience with
me.
With kindness regards.
