Are there any stats of reasons given for rejections of package to the Package archive ?
Hi all,
First of all kudos to all those who take enormous chunks of time to
see that no license threatens either in letter or spirit the DFSG . I
am not a subscriber to the list so if somebody answers this mail,
please make sure to CC me so I also benefit from the answer.
I have been trying to blog about debconf and the presentations made
during them. In that aspect, I have seen Bradley M. Kuhn's
presentation http://meetings-archive.debian.net/pub/debian-meetings/2016/debconf16/The_Supreme_Court_of_DFSGFree.webm
While I have a few thoughts which I am penning/blogging on my blog,
one query - thought is about how rejection of packages takes place ?
For e.g. if I have an application which I either package or get it
packaged through friends, I submit through an RFS - Request for
Sponsorship. Now while I know that people are tested for their
knowledge of DFSG and they have to read in order to understand what's
good or not, if it's a new license, how things flow ? Does the DD,
the sponsor ask for a ruling or does the ftp-master/ftp-assistant
asks/decides ?
Or perhaps a bit more interestingly, do we keep stats. of packages
rejected according to reason ? If it's documented, where could I find
those stats ?
Looking for answers and respect for all the hard work everybody does .
