  Hello All:

I own a Dell i510m, and I use the i8k module to manage the fan and accesing
the BIOS. I use currently the 2.6.14.5, but it is available some time ago. I
guess >2.6.10 should have it.

I should use the force=1 parameter, but that's all. After I have the module
loaded I use the i8k krellm in gkrellm, don't know if in KDE is there any
similar thing.

You can also use the i8kutils in console to manage this things. If you need
more info just ask.

  Regards,
